Types of facial wrinkles
There are two types of facial wrinkles:

  1. Dynamic wrinkles which are formed by the frequent movement of facial muscles over the years.
  2. Static wrinkles that occur for a variety of reasons, including the loss of the skin's elasticity, gravity, and aging.

For years, the only ways to treat static wrinkles were face-lifts and brow-lifts, but they did not cure dynamic wrinkles.

Wrinkle treatment with Botox and filler
Botox is a muscle relaxant that is a beauty treatment and has been available for decades. The reason that Botox is a good treatment option is that after the injection, it blocks certain nerve signals that stimulate muscle contraction and relaxes the muscles, leading to a reduction in wrinkles.
The treatment lasts only a few minutes, and you can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment. But its effects last for 3 to 6 months and therefore it is necessary to repeat the treatment at least two or three times a year.
Although Botox and fillers are both used to eliminate wrinkles and are given through injections, there are differences between Botox and filters that differentiate them to some extent. Botox is mainly used to treat facial wrinkles. These wrinkles occur naturally around the eyes and mouth as well as between the eyebrows and increase with age.
Dermal fillers are also used to treat facial wrinkles. Fillers can be divided into two main categories: permanent and temporary. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages and can be used on different parts of the face. They are used to remove more superficial lines, such as wrinkles around the nose, lines around the mouth, or deep wrinkles such as frown lines and laugh lines, to add volume to the cheeks and lips, and fill in under the eyes, and, sometimes, to treat scars caused by wounds.

What is cosmetic Botox used for?

  • Horizonal forehead lines
  • Frown lines
  • wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Wrinkles on the nose
  • Sagging brows
  • Excessive underarm and palm sweating
  • Local neuropathic pain
  • Gummy smile
  • Neck wrinkles (neck bands)
  • Laugh lines

Botox Aftercare

  • The most important thing is to avoid lying down for 4 hours after the Botox injection.
  • Do not rub or massage the treated area.
  • Apply an ice pack to the injection area 2 to 3 hours after injection.
  • It is also necessary that the muscles in which Botox is applied are voluntarily contracted.
  • Tell your doctor if you take any medications.

One of the concerns associated with Botox injections is that people are that after stopping the Botox injections, their face will sag more than before and their wrinkles will increase. But this is not true. After the effects of Botox disappear, the person can contract and wrinkle his facial muscles again, and for this reason, he believes that he has more wrinkles, but this is not the case, and this impression is totally wrong.

Does Botox hurt?
Prior to injection, the area can be numbed with a topical anesthetic cream or cold pack 10-20 minutes before the injections are given, and the person will feel only a slight burning sensation.
After the injection, placing an ice pack on the treated area will reduce the slight pain. Needles used for Botox injections are very delicate and some people do not need numbing or ice packs because they will not feel pain.
