Although extensive or prolonged reading of fine print can cause eye strain, there is no evidence to suggest that it will damage or wear out your eyes. However, it is better to observe some basic eye care principles while you are reading. The following items can help to reduce eyestrain while reading:
1- We should learn about correct sitting posture and proper distance from monitors and books.
2- We should provide natural ambient light, as far as possible. If we use a reading lamp, models that work with incandescent lights are prioritized. Of course, except in special circumstances, direct light should not be used since it will cause eyestrain.
3- During a prolonged reading, rest your eyes every 20 minutes for at least 1 minute.
